Vinyasa, unhurried
Slow Flow
- 60 minutes
- All levels
- $22 drop-in
Most vinyasa classes move faster than most bodies want to. Slow Flow is the correction: a full standing sequence, but at the speed your breath actually runs.
You will move through a recognisable vinyasa arc — a warm start on the floor, sun salutations, a standing sequence, a few balances, and a long close. What is different is the pacing. We hold the shapes for five breaths instead of one. We cut the pose count roughly in half so there is room to do that.
There are no jump-backs and no jump-throughs. Stepping is the default, and stepping is not a modification here — it is how the class is taught. If you want to jump, nobody will stop you.
The last twelve minutes are floor work and savasana. Teachers are asked to protect that ending; a Slow Flow that runs long into savasana is a Slow Flow taught wrong.
Come to this if
- You want the shape of a flow class without the pace of one
- You are returning after time away and want a full practice that will not punish you
- You practise elsewhere and want a slower day in the week
Taught by Inés Halloran, Dominic Arya and Farrah Oyelaran.
